The Eagles Nest, Catskill Wedding

The Eagles Nest was the site of Stacey & Alen's Catskill, cabin style wedding. Growing up, both spent their summers visiting the Catskills so when it came for their lives to join, there was no better location for their friends and family to join them for a day filled with music, dancing, laughter and love. Along with a a great team of vendors, AME Event Planning helped Stacey & Alens many visions come alive. From sunflowers and wheat grass to The Beatles and campfires, we made it all happen. One of Alen's requests were sunflowers so they adorned the chuppah created by Mary Ann with Flowers on the Porch.  AME Event Planning worked closely with Mary Ann to create a custom look for the escort card table. Using wheat grass, burlap, and a few tricks up our sleeves we created a beautiful statement piece. AME Event Planning created the escort cards, ceremony programs, table numbers and favor boxes. The Beatles had an important role, helping the bridal party walk down the isle and setting the mood for several important events that occurred through out the night. Jen & Ulysses, owners of Ulysses Photography and Jen Cassaro along with her assistant Alyssa with Masterpiece Wedding videography were there to capture all these important occasions. As the party got going, the guests enjoyed boogieing down to the sounds of D & E Entertainment.

Flowers for a Baby Shower

About a month ago I was asked if I could help out with decorations for a baby shower that my friend was throwing. Of course the answer was yes so the ideas started flowing. Nicole is great because she basically said do what ever you want I know it will look great. The one rule was everything had to be pink and brown. The shower was being held at the expecting mothers home so knowing this I wanted to do a variety of different vases. This way, on the day of, you can see which type of vase looks good in different spots since there will be different areas in the house that guests will be socializing. I also did the favors for the guests. I am so not the traditional person when it comes to favor so I suggested she do real flowers in clay pots. This way they last a decently long time. The tag on the favor had two meanings. "Watch me grow" was meant for both the flower and for the baby once she is born. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

80th Birthday Dinner Party

This past Tuesday was my grandfather's 80th birthday! It was a celebration in my family! The whole weekend consisted of festivities for him and the family to be together but on his actual birthday I hosted a dinner party for him. He has always loved cows and tractors, typical country boy. As a younger man he had his own farm tending to his cows and mowing his hay. For the table I wanted to incorporate this so I did a black and white theme and my cousin made the cow cake. He loved the night! Here are the pictures to prove it!

Appetizer to start things off

This is a very easy tablescape. A cloth table allows you to write and decorate it.

Place cards were adorned with cow spots

Loved the cake! It matched his sense of humor!

This was my cousin's goal, to make a cake that had a cow on it! (and the poop just added another touch)
My grandfather "that is going to be shitty piece of cake, I don't want that one" (pointing at the poop)

Winter Wonderland Greek Wedding and Baptism

Mid fall I received an email asking for assistance with a friend's wedding/ baptism of their baby boy. I admit, in the beginning I was nervous! Even though I had worked a ton of weddings, I still had never been 'the wedding planner,' the one in charge and never had I done a wedding and baptism in one day. I feared the worst, hoped for the best, and had many sleepless nights... and nightmares. However, with these fears and sleepless night I was able to play out every aspect of the wedding in my head and figure out what would be the best way to solve any problem that may occur. Another important factor in the mix was the bride and groom and their confidence in me. Thanks to them I was able to gain the confidence I lacked. Throughout the entire planning process their 'thank you so much' and 'I don't know what I would do without you' comments assured me to keep up the good work. I also thank all the vendors who helped the day come together!

When I came on board I was told the theme was winter wonderland as the wedding was mid January. In collaboration with the bride we were able to create a wintery, warm, snow kissed day from the ceremony programs, to the wedding cake, and the even the glitter-like-snow on all the votives.
